I would like to announce that I recently purchased "Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure, and Preposterous Words." Therefore, every time I feel like it I'm going to post a "word of the day" that I've found in that wonderful catalogue of the absurd.
Agomphious (adj.) - toothless
You should make us guess their meaning...

my dear cornelius,
ReplyDeletewhere in the world would you find something like that?
Kano T.
Last Saturday I picked up the Oxford Dictionary of Slang at Bookpeople.
ReplyDeleteAll in the name of copiousness. It's a wonderful book of the bizarre and obscene.
That's brilliant Pastor S. Will do.
ReplyDeleteOh no. You're going to make us guess? This could turn interesting...
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, by the way! Perhaps having the heat on will help things. ;)
DocScro - You would know all about that, wouldn't you . . .
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, Mrs. Byrne's is like that too. Some really really strange nasty words. We need to go to the smoke room and just sit quietly across the room from each other for like 10 or 15 minutes, and when nobody's expecting, just start yelling out random slangs and bizzare insults. It would be awesome!
Alright, I know this has nothing to do with the post, but really, I must protest something.
ReplyDeleteWhy do y'all's polls close so fast?? I NEVER EVER get to vote! And I really wanted to do so on this one. :(
Alright Faith, I have heard your petition. I've given you (and anyone else who wants to vote) one more day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rob! *votes*
