I am probably being immature, but . . .

The stock market makes me laugh.

The Dow Jones over the last few days:
Friday: -200 pts.
Monday: +400 pts.
Tuesday: -275 pts.
So far today (by 11:30 AM EST): -297 pts.

Can anybody give me a reason not to laugh at this? I'm kind of looking for one because nobody seems to be laughing. But honestly.

  2. Sorry. I am actually working on a more substantive post. I just have a little bit of a TON of homework. As you know.

  3. It's what happens when a country involves itself in a world market. What occurs here has repercussions around the world. Those ripples affect markets in countries like China, Japan, India, Germany, and England. Then it gets back around to us. The news from those markets affects the next day's trading back in the States.

The real issue (and the reason you continue to see such fluctuation) is that no one, not even the U.S. Govt. (not that that is really saying anything) knows how big a hole we have dug ourselves into. As soon as more bad news (like: "we're another 50' lower than we thought we were") gets spread around, we take another dive.
